Abacin Insecticide containing Abamectin 1.9% EC is a powerful natural-origin insecticide from Crystal Crop Protection that effectively controls mites, thrips and leaf miners through contact and stomach action with translaminar movement.

Abacin Insecticide

Abacin Insecticide is a highly effective broad-spectrum bio-derived insecticide manufactured by Crystal Crop Protection. It contains Abamectin 1.9% EC, a fermentation-derived molecule produced from the soil microorganism Streptomyces avermitilis.

Abacin works primarily through contact and stomach action, quickly affecting the nervous system of insects and mites. It disrupts nerve impulses by stimulating chloride channels, leading to paralysis and death of the pest. Because of its translaminar activity, the insecticide penetrates leaf tissues and protects both the upper and lower leaf surfaces, making it extremely effective against hidden pests such as mites and leaf miners.

Abacin is widely trusted by farmers for vegetables, fruits, cotton, tea and ornamental crops, especially where mite and leaf miner infestations cause severe yield losses.

Abacin Insecticide Features and Benefits

Natural-Origin Molecule
Derived from soil bacteria (Streptomyces avermitilis), making it highly effective at low dosage.

Strong Translaminar Activity
Moves inside the leaf tissues, controlling pests hidden on the underside of leaves.

Rapid Knockdown Effect
Stops feeding almost immediately by disrupting the pest nervous system.

Effective Mite Control
One of the most reliable solutions for red spider mites, which are difficult to control with conventional insecticides.

Long Residual Protection
Continues protecting the crop for several days after application.

Resistance Management Tool
Different mode of action helps manage resistance in integrated pest management (IPM) programs.

Mode of Action

Abamectin belongs to the Avermectin group of insecticides. It works by stimulating glutamate-gated chloride channels in the insect nervous system. This causes an increase in chloride ion flow leading to paralysis, cessation of feeding, and eventual death of the pest.

Because of its translaminar movement, Abacin spreads through leaf tissues, controlling pests that are difficult to reach through spray coverage.
