SKB – MBV16 Verticillium Metarhizium Beauveria
Advanced Bio-Insecticide for Sustainable Pest Control
SKB – MBV16 is a powerful biological insect control formulation based on three beneficial entomopathogenic microorganisms: Verticillium lecanii, Metarhizium anisopliae, and Beauveria bassiana. These naturally occurring fungi are widely studied in agricultural research for their ability to infect and kill a wide range of insect pests while remaining safe for crops, beneficial insects, and the environment.
Unlike chemical insecticides that act through toxicity, MBV16 works through biological infection. The fungal spores attach to the insect body, germinate, penetrate the cuticle, and multiply inside the pest, eventually causing death. After the insect dies, the fungi produce new spores that spread to other pests, providing continuous field-level suppression.
This multi-organism formulation improves reliability because each microorganism targets slightly different pest groups and environmental conditions. As a result, SKB – MBV16 provides broad-spectrum biological pest control, making it an excellent component of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and organic farming systems.
The product is especially effective against sucking pests, thrips, whiteflies, aphids, and mites, which are major yield-reducing pests in vegetables, fruits, plantation crops, and field crops.

SKB – MBV16 Features and Benefits
Triple Bio-Control Technology
Contains three powerful entomopathogenic fungi which attack pests through infection and multiplication.
Broad Spectrum Pest Control
Effective against aphids, whiteflies, thrips, jassids, mites, and other soft-bodied insects.
Self-Propagating Action
After infecting pests, fungi produce more spores which spread naturally and help suppress pest populations.
Residue-Free Protection
Leaves no harmful chemical residues on crops, making it ideal for safe food production and export crops.
Compatible with IPM Programs
Can be used alongside biological predators, pheromone traps, and other eco-friendly pest management tools.
Resistance Management
Since pests are infected biologically rather than poisoned chemically, the risk of resistance development is extremely low.
Environment Friendly
Safe for beneficial insects, soil health, pollinators, and the surrounding ecosystem when used correctly.
Usage and Crop Recommendations
| Crop | Target Pests | Dosage/ha | Dilution in Water | Application Method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton | Whiteflies, Aphids, Jassids | 2 – 3 L | 500 L | Foliar Spray |
| Vegetables | Thrips, Aphids, Whiteflies | 2 – 3 L | 500 L | Foliar Spray |
| Fruit Crops | Mealybugs, Thrips | 2 – 3 L | 500 – 700 L | Foliar Spray |
| Plantation Crops | Scale Insects, Whiteflies | 2 – 3 L | 500 – 800 L | Foliar Spray |
| Greenhouse Crops | Thrips, Whiteflies, Aphids | 2 – 3 L | 500 L | Foliar Spray |
Application Timing
Best applied during early pest infestation stages. Spray preferably during cool and humid conditions (morning or evening) to support fungal growth and infection.
Repeat spray after 7 to 10 days if pest pressure persists.
Rain Fastness
Approximately 4 to 6 hours after application.
Method of Application
Foliar spray using a knapsack sprayer, power sprayer, or drip-compatible bio formulations depending on farm conditions.
Ensure good leaf coverage, especially on the underside of leaves where sucking pests usually hide.
Avoid mixing with strong chemical fungicides that may reduce fungal viability.
Storage and Handling
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
Use protective gloves and avoid inhalation of spores during mixing.
