Roko Fungicide – Features and Benefits
Strong Systemic Action:
Absorbed by plant tissues and translocated upward, providing internal protection against fungal infections.
Preventive and Curative Control:
Effective both before infection and during early stages of disease development.
Cell Division Inhibitor:
Thiophanate Methyl interferes with fungal mitosis by inhibiting microtubule formation, stopping fungal growth and spread.
Broad-Spectrum Disease Control:
Controls powdery mildew, anthracnose, leaf spots, scab, blast, and other major fungal diseases.
Long Residual Effect:
Provides extended protection after application, reducing frequent spray requirements.
Ideal for Resistance Management:
Should be rotated with fungicides of different modes of action to prevent resistance buildup.
Mode of Action – Scientific Insight
Thiophanate Methyl belongs to the Benzimidazole group. After application, it converts into Carbendazim inside the plant, which binds to fungal tubulin proteins. This disrupts spindle fiber formation during cell division, preventing fungal multiplication.
FRAC Classification: Group 1 (Single-site action fungicide)
