UPL Strider (Bispyribac Sodium 10% SC) is a systemic post-emergence herbicide designed for effective weed control in rice fields. It controls grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds, ensuring clean fields and improved crop growth during critical stages.

UPL Strider Herbicide:

Advanced Post-Emergence Weed Control for Paddy

UPL Strider is a selective post-emergence herbicide powered by Bispyribac Sodium 10% SC, specially designed for effective weed management in rice cultivation. It works by inhibiting the ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) enzyme, which is essential for amino acid synthesis in weeds. Once absorbed through the leaves and roots, the herbicide stops weed growth and gradually eliminates them, ensuring that rice plants receive maximum nutrients, sunlight, and space for healthy development.

Strider is widely trusted by paddy farmers because it controls grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in both nursery and main field conditions. Its systemic activity allows the herbicide to move inside the weed plant tissues, providing consistent and long-lasting control during critical crop growth stages.

Strider Herbicide Features and Benefits

Broad Spectrum Weed Control
Effectively controls major grassy weeds, sedges, and broadleaf weeds commonly found in rice fields.

Systemic Action
Absorbed by weed foliage and roots and moves throughout the plant tissue to stop growth completely.

Flexible Application Window
Can be applied during the 2–5 leaf stage of weeds, providing farmers with a wider spraying window.

Crop Safety
Highly selective to rice crop when used at the recommended dose, ensuring strong crop growth.

Reduces Labor Cost
Helps reduce manual weeding operations, saving labor and increasing farm efficiency.

Long Lasting Field Cleanliness
Maintains weed-free fields during critical crop growth stages for better yield potential.

Mode of Action

Bispyribac Sodium belongs to the Pyrimidinyl Carboxy herbicide group and works by blocking the Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is responsible for producing essential amino acids required for weed growth.

When the enzyme activity is disrupted, weeds stop growing within a few days and gradually die, allowing the rice crop to grow without competition for nutrients and sunlight.

Usage and Crop Recommendations
Crop Target Weeds Dosage/ha Dilution in Water (L/ha) Waiting Period
Rice (Nursery) Echinochloa crusgalli, Cyperus difformis, Ludwigia parviflora 200 ml 300 L Not Required

Field Preparation:
Drain excess water before spraying and re-irrigate after 1–2 days for best weed control.
